UCAS participated in the Steering Committee meeting of MED-MOBIL project for cultural exchange of young students and researchers in the Mediterranean region, represented by Dr. Hani Qusa, Assistant Vice President for Planning and External Relations, and Dr. Mohammed Ismail. The meeting was held at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid (Jordan) on 18-23, April 2015.

The MED-MOBIL project is an important and vital project for the college; it strengthens cooperation and communication relations with academic and international institutions especially under the blockade that has been imposed on the Gaza Strip for several years. The project improves the mobility and knowledge-sharing between the member countries of the project.

The project is funded by the European Union through ENPI CBCMED program, European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI). The applicant and the main partner in the project is Seville Area Chamber of Commerce in Spain (Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Shipping of Seville), in addition to six partners from several countries, namely: Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Greece and Italy.

The meeting included a cross cultural events as well as the “TOT” training program for the participants, and a tour for a number of archaeological sites in the Kingdom of Jordan, which included Jerash Castle, Amman Citadel, the Museum of Jordan's archaeological, Mosaic City Madaba, Petra and Umm Qais.
